Edna L. Mantor

Edna L. Mantor, 101, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, November 16, 2000, at the Cedar Falls Western Home Martin Center of natural causes. She was born August 30, 1899, in Peterson, daughter of Edwin and Laura Batterson Mantor. She received a bachelor of arts degree in primary education from Iowa State Teachers College (UNI) and later received a master's degree from Columbia University, New York. She joined the faculty at Iowa State Teachers College in 1923 and taught until 1969. Survived by: special friends, Connie and Carl Riggs. Preceded in death by: a brother, Lyle Mantor; and a sister, Marjorie Bos. Memorial services will take place at a later date. There will be no visitation. Memorials: may be directed to the University of Northern Iowa or the United Church of Christ, Cedar Falls. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
