Douglas Doerzman

Douglas Doerzman, 65, of Fort Dodge, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, August 5, 2000, at Mercy Hospital, Des Moines, of a heart attack. He was born December 16, 1934, in Blairstown.  He married Beverly Fancher in 1959. Mr. Doerzman received a bachelor's degree from Iowa State Teachers College in 1957 and a master's degree from State College of Iowa in 1964.  He taught in Belle Plaine and Cedar Falls, then moved to Fort Dodge in 1967 and served as student teaching coordinator in the Fort Dodge area for the University of Northern Iowa, retiring in 1992. Survived by:  his wife; a son, David of Waterford, Wisconsin; a daughter, Sue Sullivan of West Des Moines; four grandchildren; and a brother, Jim of Bettendorf. Services:  11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, with burial in North Lawn Cemetery, both in Fort Dodge.  Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fort Dodge.
