Donald K. Hoppe, 67, died of cancer at Bates Memorial Hospital in Bentonville, Arkansas, on Monday, January 26, 1988. Don began working at UNI in 1967 and at the time of his retirement on August 1, 1984, was a Storekeeper II in the Health, Physical Education, and Recreation Department.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 on Monday, February 1, 1988, at American Lutheran Church in LaPorte City. The body has been cremated. Arrangements are being made by Huisman Funeral Home in LaPorte City.
Don was born in Black Hawk County on July 22, 1920, son of Edwin and Selma Hoppe. He married Elizabeth "Betty" McCrae in Missouri on June 8, 1940.
Don is survived by his wife; two daughters, Janet Pacovsky of New Hampton and Colleen of Madison, Wisconsin; a son, Steven of Waterloo; his mother, Selma of LaPorte City; two sisters, Betty of LaPorte City and Marge Walker of Cedar Falls; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family asks that no flowers be sent. A memorial will be established.
