Coyla Elaine McCann

                 Coyla McCann Coyla Elaine McCann, 85, died Saturday, October 26, 2013, at Western Home Communities-Martin Center due to complications of a hemorrhagic stroke. She was born August 25, 1928, in rural Adair County, daughter of Harold and Edith Lauer Boyd.  She married Willis D. McCann on August 29, 1948, at Hill of Zion Church, rural Adair County.  He died May 25, 2000. She received her bachelor's degree in 1949 from Iowa State Teachers College (University of Northern Iowa).  She was employed by the University of Northern Iowa as a library associate, retiring September 1, 1993, after twenty-nine years of service. Survived by:  two sons, David (Linda) of Shell Rock and Douglas (Lisa) of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; three daughters, Diane (Donald) Morey of Dayton, Ohio, Donna (Pat) Moothart of Urbandale, and Denise (Doug) Matthias of Cedar Falls; nine grandchildren, Jennifer (Robert), Kathryn (Adam), Rebecca, Kimberly, Andrea, Victoria, Jason, Brandon and Melanie; five great-grandchildren, Patricia, Brianna, Caden, Danica, and Gavin; a brother, Landis Boyd; and two sisters, Kathryn Frey and Patricia Czerwinski. Preceded in death by:  a brother, Arden Boyd. Memorial services:  11 a.m. Wednesday at Cedar Heights Baptist Church.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Richardson's Funeral Service.
