Barbara Jane Erickson, 53, of Janesville, died Thursday, June 27, 2002, at her home of multiple myeloma.
She was born September 13, 1948, in Chicago, daughter of Roy and Hope Perkis Young. She married James Erickson on July 19, 1969, in Belmond.
Mrs. Erickson received a bachelor of arts degree in public relations in 1989 and a master of arts degree in communications in 1992, both from the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls. She was a teacher's assistant in the Cedar Falls school system for eight years and had been employed in public relations at UNI. She was past president of Women in Communications.
Survived by: her husband; her children, Dana Erickson of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Brenda Olsen of Fort Collins, Colorado, and Christopher Bidwell of Washington, D. C.; a brother, David Young of Phoenix; and a sister, Sue Mortenson of Naperville, Illinois.
Preceded in death by: her parents.
Services: 10:30 AM Saturday at St. John Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, with cremation to follow. Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM today at the Dahl-VanHove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.
Memorials: may be directed to the church, the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, Cedar Valley Hospice, or Cedar Valley Dialysis.
