Ruth C. Wilson, 86, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, October 13, 2002, at Meth-Wick Community the Woodlands, Cedar Rapids, of natural causes. She was born March 5, 1916, in Rockford, Illinois, daughter of Dr. Harry and Martha Bice Chatterton. She married John A. Wilson on November 9, 1940, in Cedar Falls. He died February 26, 1981. Mrs. Wilson retired in 1981 from the University of Northern Iowa.
Survivors include: two sons, Dale of Cedar Falls and Paul of Burlington; three daughters, Dee Wilson of Cedar Rapids, Marlyn Joan Wilson of South Carolina, and Jean Hall of Glendale, Arizona; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by: a brother, Fred Chatterton; a sister, Martha Van Alstine; a son, Ross; and an infant daughter, Jane Wilson.
Memorial services: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Richardson Funeral Home, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 P.M. today at the funeral home.
