Mary E. Williams, 83, of 1003 Logan Avenue, Waterloo, Iowa, died Sunday, January 17, 2010, at Allen Hospital of natural causes. She was born June 2, 1926, in Swiftown, Mississippi, daughter of Wesley Williams and Pearline Jones. She was formerly employed as a cook for the University of Northern Iowa, retiring in 1988. Survived by: a special friend, Calvin Manring of Waterloo; and nine grandchildren. Preceded in death by: a brother, Claude Williams; a sister, Willie Mae Noel; and a daughter, Pearline Taylor March. 

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Public visitation from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church. Sanders Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: may be directed to the family at 1003 Logan Avenue, Waterloo, where they will receive friends.
