Louis A. Westphal, 72, died Thursday, at Covenant Medical Center-Schoitz. Louis was employed by UNI in 1967, went on the long term disability program in 1979, and retired in 1984. He was a construction inspector in the Engineering Services Department. Louis was born November 18, 1913, in Bremer County, son of L. G. and Amanda Westphal. He married Norma Irean Russell on July 3, 1939, at Wellsburg.
Survivors include his wife; a brother, Russell of Cleveland, Minnesota; and a sister, Margaret Childs of Dunkerton. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today at St. John's Lutheran Church, Bennington Township, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, Dunkerton. Handling the arrangements is Parrott and Wood Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran Church, Bennington Township.
