Marilyn Wemark of the Registrar's Office was killed in a storm-related car accident on Sunday, January 6, 1980. Marilyn grew up in Ridgeway, Iowa, where she attended Ridgeway High School. She attended Gates Business College in Waterloo for two years and worked after graduation as a clerk at the Black Hawk County Courthouse before coming to the University in 1960 as a Transcript Clerk in the Registrar's Office, where she continued to work until her death.
She was active in her church, Ridgeway Lutheran, Ridgeway, Iowa, where funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 9. The flag will be flown at half-mast during the time of the funeral service. Funds received in Marilyn Wemark's and Agnes Walsh's names will be given to the UNI-AOP ongoing scholarship fund in their memory. Please make checks payable to UNI-AOP Scholarship Fund and mail to the Business Office.
