Francis K. Wahner, 88, of Windsor Care and Rehab Center, formerly of 2216 Lincoln Street, Lot 22, died Wednesday, November 21, 2007, at Sartori Memorial Hospital. She was born July 12, 1919, in Boone, daughter of Grover and Madaline Martin Chamberlin. She married Richard M. Wahner on July 6, 1940, in Montezuma, and they later divorced. Ms. Wahner was a 1938 graduate of Montezuma High School, and had been employed as a custodian with the University of Northern Iowa, retiring in 1985. Survivors include: two sons, William (Joann) of Janesville and James A. of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Francis Kathryn L. Dykes of Cedar Falls; eleven grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild; and two sisters, Hazel Couch of Murphysboro, Illinois, and Elmoren (Gerald) Guyer of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Preceded in death by: t wo sons, Robert and Richard; three brothers; three sisters; and a great-grandson. Services: l p.m. Monday at Ascension Lutheran Church, Waterloo, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, Cedar Falls. Public visitation from 1 to 4 p.m. today at Richardson Funeral Home. Visitation also for an hour before services Monday at the church. Memorials: may be directed to the family.
