Charles Floyd Storey, 82, of Shellsburg, formerly of Waterloo, died Friday, January 20, 2012, at Vinton Lutheran Home of natural causes. He was born May 6, 1929, in Boise, Idaho, son of Henry and Della Fosdick Storey. He married Carol Virginia Walker on October 17, 1949, in Manning. She died December 16, 1984. He married Marie Krueger on August 5, 1985. He was employed with Rath Packing for twenty-seven years, and the University of Northern Iowa for nine years before retiring, working as a supervisor in the power plants. Survived by: his wife; two sons, Charles (Karen) and Tim (Chris), all of Waterloo; a daughter, Jackie DeHart of Cedar Falls; a nephew, Larry (Donna) Phillips, a niece, Ave (Don) Williams, and two sisters-in-law, all of whom he raised and of Waterloo; and many grand- and great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by: a son, Randy; two brothers, John in infancy, and Thomas; and a sister, Ruth Phillips. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery, Waterloo. Public visitation 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories. Memorials: may be directed to the family. In his spare time he loved to make various pieces from woodworking. Charles enjoyed feeding the birds and other wildlife, camping, and all of his pets throughout the years.
