Professor James B. Robinson, Ph. D., 71, of Cedar Falls, died at home Tuesday, January 12, 2016. He was born September 7, 1944, in Indianapolis, son of James Paul and Mary Jane Groff Robinson. He married Linda Turner on December 4, 1977, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls. He earned his B. A. degree in religion and history from Wabash College and his Ph. D in religious studies from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He was an associate professor of religion at the University of Northern Iowa.
Survived by: his wife; a son, Darius of Waverly; a sister, Sally Robinson of Waterloo; and two godsons, Nicolas Fettkether and Bodie Turner, both of Dunkerton. Preceded in death by: his parents; and a sister, Sarah Jane Robinson.
Services: are tentatively set for April in Cedar Falls. Richardson Funeral Service is assisting the family.
Memorials in lieu of flowers: may be directed to UNI Foundation for the Department of Philosophy and Religion, St. Luke's Episcopal Church, or Cedar Valley Hospice.
