Victor B. Rhoades, 67, died at Sartori Memorial Hospital on Saturday morning, October 11, 1986. He began working for UNI in 1942 and was the heating power plant manager in Plant Services prior to becoming disabled in 1980. Funeral services will be today at 1:30 p.m. at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. today until services at the funeral home. A memorial fund will be established. Victor was born April 5, 1919, in Brooklyn, the son of Homer J. and Myrtle B. Brush Rhoades. He married Ruby E. Wells on April 24, 1940, in Cedar Falls. He served in the U. S. Navy prior to and during World War II.
Victor is survived by his wife, Ruby; two sons, Gary, Cedar Falls, and Dennis, Atlanta, Georgia; and one daughter, Vickie (Mrs. Donald Turner), Cedar Falls. Also surviving Victor Rhoades are a brother, Homer J. Rhoades, St. Paul, Minnesota; a sister, Bernace (Mrs. Clarence Lauver), Longmont, Colorado; and six grandchildren.
