Joe Przychodzin, 89, of Westminster, Colorado, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, January 20, 2005, at Brighton Care Center. He was born April 3, 1915, in Christopher, Illinois, son of Ben and Mary Zaremba Przychodzin. He married Eileen Brewer February 15, 1941, in Zeigler, Illinois. She died November 21, 2000.
Mr. Przychodzin graduated from Christopher High School, Christopher. He received his bachelor's degree in education in 1940 from Southern Illinois University, his master's degree in education from the University of Illinois, and his doctorate in 1953 from the University of Missouri. He taught education classes at the University of Northern Iowa for thirty-four years, retiring in 1981.
He moved to Loveland, Colorado, in 1982, and then to Westminster in 2000. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Association of Supervision of Curricular Development, the National Education Association, the Association for Student Teachers, and Phi Delta Kappa. He enjoyed fishing and golf.
Survivors include: three sons, Denny of Coulee Dam, Washington, Phil of Massena and Joe of Littleton, Colorado; a daughter, Judi Fernquist of Henderson, Colorado; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by: a son, Richard, and a sister, Helen Merkner.
Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, with burial at Resthaven Memory Gardens, both in Colorado. Allnutt Funeral Home, Loveland, is in charge of arrangements.
