Eugenia G. Parisho, 92, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, January 17, 2012, at Friendship Village Lakeview Health Center, Waterloo. She was born May 3, 1919, in Chalfant, Pennsylvania, daughter of John and Rosalia "Rose" Kopijeazyk Gazda. She married William Robert Parisho. He died October 20, 1966. Mrs. Parisho graduated from Sharon High School in Pennsylvania and earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Northern Iowa and a master's degree from the University of Chicago. She was employed as assistant professor of teaching with UNI, retiring from Malcolm Price Laboratory School, where she taught for many years. Survived by: a sister-in-law, Anne Gazda of California; and nieces and nephews, Mary Elizabeth Juday of Alaska, Anne Foster Strome of Colorado, Theresa Rose Harrison of Tennessee, Beatrice Christine Blewett of California, Theodore Thomas Zajdel, Jr. of California, Richard Karl Zajdel of Montana, and Daniel Paul Zajdel of Pennsylvania. Preceded in death by: a daughter, Mary Jane Parisho; a brother, Theodore Gazda; and a sister, Olga Zajdel. Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in Salem South Cemetery, Salem. Memorials: may be directed to Friendship Village.
