Dr. Michael Dean Oleson, 41, of Cedar Falls, died at home Monday, May 17, 2004. He was born August 16, 1962, in Iowa City, son of Dean L. and Janet K. Carman Oleson. He received a bachelor of science degree in accounting and a masters of accountancy, both from Kansas State University, and a Ph. D. in accountancy from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. He had been an assistant professor in accounting at the University of Northern Iowa from 2002 until the present Survivors include: his parents of Lenexa, Kansas; six brothers, Sean (Laurie) of Gardner, Kansas, Jeffrey (Holly) of Ottawa, Kansas, William of Memphis, Tennessee, and Jason, Alexander, and Sterling, all of Lenexa; and three sisters, Kathryn Oleson (Gordon Buffonge) of Portland, Oregon, Charlotte Oleson of Shawnee, Kansas, and Elizabeth (Jason) Rogers of Lenexa. Preceded in death by: a brother, Steve.
Services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Timothy's United Methodist Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa. Friends may call for an hour before services Wednesday at the church. Additional services will take place in Lenexa. Richardson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
