Marilyn E. Marlow, 75, of New York City, formerly of Waterloo, died August 25, 2003, at the home of her niece, Margaret Foley McCabe, in Katonah, New York. She was born May 10, 1928, in Waterloo, daughter of Clifford W. and Ella Murphy Marlow. She graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1944, earned a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, in 1947, and earned a master's degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan, in 1953. She taught English and creative writing at Tama High School in Tama, at East Waterloo High School, and at Bentley High School, Livonia, Michigan. She moved to New York in 1957 to work in publishing with Harcourt Brace Jovanovich. In 1959 she joined Curtis Brown Ltd., where she became an executive vice president. 

Survived by: a brother, William H. Marlow of Arlington, Virginia; and a sister, Joan Marlow Foley of Schoolcraft, Michigan. 

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church--St. Mary's site, where there will be a wake from 6 to 9 p.m. A memorial service will be in New York City on October 24.
