Arnie Leininger Arnie George Leininger, 80, of Evansdale, died Sunday, October 16, 2011, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo. He was born July 20, 1931, in Lawler, son of George and Goldie Luella Burst Leininger. He married Arlene Schultz in 1948. She died in 2004. He married Joyce Cox on December 26, 1982, in Waterloo. Mr. Leininger was employed with Rath Packing Company, Waterloo, for thirty-four years and then with the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, for fifteen years, retiring in 1998. Survived by: his wife; three sons, Duane Leininger of Faribault, Minnesota, David (Trish) Leininger of Waterloo and Gordon (Suzanne) Cox of Hiawatha; a daughter, Michele (Scott) Carnes of Waterloo; four grandchildren, Megan, Morgan, Kyle, and Sara; two great-grandchildren, Oliver and Rowan; six stepgrandchildren, Nicole, Chelsea, and Mariah Cox, Dakota Paeper, and Courtney and Tyler Carnes; and a sister, Helen Byrd of Cedar Falls. Preceded in death by: a brother, Duane. Memorial Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, Waterloo. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and for an hour before services Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials: may be directed to the Cedar Bend Humane Society or Cedar Valley Hospice.
