Dr. Agnes Lebeda (Professor Emeritus, Department of Management) passed away in California at 12:20 p.m., Friday, June 26, 1992. Cause of death was cancer and complications of surgery. Dr. Lebeda was taken ill doing her favorite thing -- traveling. She was admitted to the hospital and underwent immediate surgery. Dr. Lebeda joined the Department of Business and Business Education in 1953 and remained at the University for 28 years until her retirement in 1981. She spent her retirement in Alva, Oklahoma. Dr. Lebeda's professional accomplishments included terms as president of the Iowa Business Education Association and editor of the Business Education Forum for the National Business Education Association. Other professional memberships included AAUP, AAUW, Phi Delta Kappa, Delta Pi Epsilon, Pi Omega Pi, and N-CBEA. She was an avid reader and traveler. She was the author of many professional articles for business education periodicals. A memorial has been established at the Kansas State University Cancer Center, Division of Biology, Ackert Hall, Manhattan, Kansas. Memorials also may be sent to Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
