Amanda O. Langemo, 96, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, November 21, 2001, at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home of natural causes. She was born November 9, 1905, in Kenyon, Minnesota, daughter of Jorgen and Randi Ramstad Langemo. She received her bachelor of arts degree in 1925 from St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minnesota, and received her master of arts degree and worked on her doctorate at the University of Oregon at Portland. She taught at public schools in Minnesota and Wisconsin, then at Luther College in Decorah, and retired from the University of Northern Iowa. Survived by: a sister, Leona Bluhm of Waldorf, Minnesota. Preceded in death by: three brothers, Peter, Gerhard, and Herman Langemo; and a sister, Marie Vaxland. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Monday at Nazareth Lutheran Church chapel. There will be no visitation. Richardson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: may be directed to the Cedar Falls Public Library, the UNI Foundation, or the church.
