SUBJECT: W. MICHAEL JAMIESON OBITUARY NOTICE DATE: January 26, 1993 

W. Michael Jamieson, 44, of Waterloo, died of cancer at Covenant Medical Center Hospice Unit on Monday, January 25, 1993. Michael began his career at UNI in November 1978 as an Electronics Technician in the Educational Media Center and was still in this position at the time of his death. Michael was born November 17, 1948, in Marengo, son of Franklin M. and Edythe Septer Jamieson. He graduated from East High School in 1967 and worked as the school photographer, having some sports pictures published by the Waterloo Courier. He attended ISU for one year and then Hawkeye Tech for two years, graduating from there with an Associate of Arts Degree in Photography. 

He married Dorothy Haasis on September 12, 1970, in Waterloo. Michael was also in the Black Hawk County Sheriff's Reserves in the 1980s. He was a member of the NRA, Cedar Valley Pistol and Rifle Club attending competitive shooting in Iowa and NRA-sponsored matches, the Cedar Valley Railfans Association, and the Mid-Continent Railway Museum in North Freedom, Wisconsin, as a photo member taking pictures of their activities. He was also active in the BSA Troop #11 at Longfellow School as an Assistant Scoutmaster, Chartered Representative, and Committee Chair. 

Michael is survived by his wife; his mother, Edythe Lawson of Waterloo; three sons, Randal of Waterloo, Andrew and Charles at home; one daughter, Jennifer at home; four brothers, Clyde of Tucson, Arizona, Paul, Philip, and John all of Waterloo; one step-brother, Robert Lawson of Waterloo; two sisters, Catharyn Marquart of Denver and Dona French of Canyon Country, California; four step-sisters, Eleanore Sprinkle of Coralville, Jean Griffith of Tarpon Springs, Florida, Delores Guhl of Waterloo, and Rebecca Brandon of Davenport; and one grandson.

 Services will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Waterloo, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Waterloo. The Kearns Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball in Waterloo is in charge of arrangements.
