The following notice was received from Mrs. Ruth Fairbanks; she had received the information from Dr. Merritt Melberg: Dr. Arthur L. Henze, 58, of Bryant, Arkansas, formerly of North Little Rock and Conway, died Sunday, July 1, 1973, following a heart attack. He was the chief psychologist at the Benton Unit of the State Hospital. He was a professor of psychology at the State College of Arkansas from 1957 to 1969. Dr. Henze, a native of New York City, received his B. S. and M. S. degrees from the University of Missouri, and his doctorate from the University of Michigan. He was a veteran of World War II and an Episcopalian. Dr. Henze was a member of the University of Northern Iowa faculty in Cedar Falls, Iowa, before coming to Conway. He was married twice. His first wife was Dr. Mary Vance Henze of Conway. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Shirley Jordan Henze; a son, Dr. Walter W. Henze of Seattle, Washington; a daughter, Miss Catherine Henze of Moscow, Idaho; a stepson, J. W. Ray of Little Rock; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Carroll Gravett and Mrs. Benny A. Wilson, both of North Little Rock. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, 1973, at Ashby Funeral Chapel at Benton, Arkansas. Burial will be at Pinecrest Memorial Park near Little Rock. Dr. Henze was a member of the faculty of the former Department of Education from 1955 through 1957.
