Ralph M. Goodman, 89, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, December 14, 2014, at NewAldaya Lifescapes, Cedar Falls. He was born July 8, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois, son of Milton and Bertha Mandel Goodman. He married Harriet Gelfand on January 30, 1955, in North Hollywood, California. He served in both the Coast Guard and the Merchant Marines, after which he taught linguistics at UCLA and UNI. In retirement, he enjoyed a successful career as a massage therapist. Survived by: his wife, Harriet; three children: Keith of Arlington, Texas, Kathy of Madison, Wisconsin, and Karen of Cedar Falls; twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren. No services are scheduled. Because Ralph loved the sea, his ashes will be scattered there. Richardson Funeral Service is assisting the family.
