Mildred I. Faye. 95, of Waterloo, died at Friendship Village on May 2, 2006, of natural causes. She was born September 23, 1910, in Bristow, daughter of Norma and Allie Nicholas Diggins. She married Thomas Wesley Faye on August 4, 1928, in Cedar Falls. He died July 22, 2000. Mrs. Faye worked as a secretary in the mathematics department at the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls. Survivors include: a daughter-in-law, Mary Grace Faye of California; three grandchildren, Cheryl (Ed) Earls, Thomas (Pauline) Faye, and Nancy (Vincent) Palasik, all of California; six great-grandchildren, Brian, Garrett, Timothy, and David James Earls, and Skylar and Shelby Palasik, all of California: a sister, Alda Duffy of Waterloo; and a niece, Cindy (Bob) Pollock of Waterloo. Preceded in death by: her parents; a son, Clifford Wesley Faye; and two brothers.
Graveside services: 11 a.m. Monday, May 22, 2006, at Garden of Memories Cemetery. There will be no visitation. The Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: may be directed to Lakeview Lodge or Cedar Valley Hospice. Condolences may be left at the Kearns Funeral Service website.
