Donna Marie Delagardelle, 81, of Waterloo, died Friday, July 15, at Allen Hospital of natural causes. She was born March 3, 1935, in Waterloo, the daughter of Tom and Erna Nieman Wilson. She married Louis J. Delagardelle on January 3, 1953, in Waterloo and he preceded her in death on April 4, 1979. Donna graduated from Waterloo West High School and was employed at the University of Northern Iowa until her retirement.
Survivors include: two sons, Jeff (Pat) of Cedar Falls and Charlie (Linda) of Grove, Okla; four daughters, Gayle (Craig) Hartline of Bullfrog, Utah, Marjorie Stover of Grand Junction, Colo, Joyce (Bob) Izydore of Creedmoor, N.C. and Rhonda (Steve) Zoolakis of Highlands Ranch, Colo; thirteen grandchildren, Dawn, Maureen, Shannon, Alisa, Elizabeth, Kimberly, Rachael, Ashley, Bobby, Alaina, Adam, Mitchell, and Olivia; three great-grandchildren, Lizzy, Stella and Maelee; a sister, Marion Johnson of Fla; a brother, Tyrone (Peggy) Wilson of Bettendorf; a daughter-in-law, Sherrie Delagardelle of Grimes; a sister-in-law, Nancy Wilson of Woodland Hills, Calif; two step grandchildren, Jennifer and Angela; five step-great grandchildren, Cameron, Greyson, Jaelynn, Nash, and Brody. Preceded in death by: her husband, her son, Stan Delagardelle, her parents; two brothers, Dale Wilson and Wes Wilson.
Services: 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, July 19, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation from 4-7 P.M. Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street. Visitation also one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church. Memorials: may be directed to the family. Donna enjoyed doing puzzles, playing bingo, deserts, and above all her family. We would like to thank NorthCrest Specialty Care for the many years of caring for her.
