Charles 'Chuck' V.L. Dedrick of Jacksonville, FL passed away in his home on May 12, 2016 Jacksonville, FL at the age of 78. Chuck is survived by his wife, Phyllis; his children, Debbie and her husband Kent of Reading, MA; Scott and his wife Lisa of Jacksonville, FL; and Brian of Jacksonville, FL. Papa also leaves behind 7 grandchildren. Charles was born in West Orange, NJ and graduated from Brown University in 1959, Rollins College in 1966, and with an Ed. D from the University of Florida in 1972. Dr. Dedrick was a professor at the University of Northern Iowa from 1971 until his retirement from the university in 2000. He was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed 55 years of daily crossword puzzles up until the week before he died. As Buddy, Dad, Papa and dear friend, Chuck will be greatly missed. A private family service was held on May 13th.
