Howard W. Courtney, 91, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Hudson, died at the Western Home Elizabeth Martin Center on Monday, October 9, 2006. He was born July 28, 1915, in Waterloo, son of William and Hannah Miller Courtney. He married Margaret Boysen on October 17, 1939, in Dike. She died December 30, 1994. He graduated from Dinsdale High School in 1934 and was a carpenter at the University of Northern Iowa, retiring in 1981. 

Survived by: two sons, Larry (Charlotte) and Daryl (Paulette), both of Waterloo; a daughter, Joyce (John) Hill of Boone; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Madge McCoskey of Cedar Falls. 

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, Hudson, with burial in the Hudson Cemetery. Public visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls. 

Memorials: may be directed to the church or Cedar Valley Hospice.
