Marjorie Lorraine Baker, 86, of Cedar Falls, formerly of New Hartford, died Monday, May 23, 2005, at Sartori Memorial Hospital. She was born November 1, 1918, in Cedar Falls, daughter of Frank A. and Mildred M. Freet Ahlhelm. She married Sidney B. Baker September 4, 1937, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua. He died May 27, 1995. Mrs. Baker was assistant food director at the University of Northern Iowa, retiring in 1980.
Survived by: two daughters, Marjorie K. (Rudy) Mohl of New Hartford and Vicki Ann (Terry) Smith of Cedar Falls; seven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; thirteen great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Frank A. (Bev) Ahlhelm of Mesa, Arizona; and two nieces, Betty Lou Barrett and Evelyn Jean Frink. Preceded in death by: her husband; her parents; a son, Steven; a granddaughter, Mary Ann; and a grandson, Kim Allen.
Services: 1 p.m. Thursday at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, with the family present, and for an hour before services Thursday.
