Mary C. Anderson, Emeritus Assistant Professor of Education, died Thursday, 20 September 1973, at the Samarkand Convalescent Hospital in Santa Barbara, California. Her death was attributed to complications of age. Miss Anderson was born at Lostant, Illinois, 31 August 1885. She graduated from Iowa State Teachers College with the B. A. degree in 1914, attended the University of Chicago in 1923 and earned her M. A. degree from the State University of Iowa in 1926. Miss Anderson taught in rural schools from 1903 to 1906 and in public high schools from 1908 to 1924. From 1924 to 1954 she taught in the Campus Laboratory School of the University of Northern Iowa. Miss Anderson was a member of the National Education Association, the Iowa State Teachers Association, the American Association of University Women, the Association of Supervisors of Student Teaching, and the Council of Mathematics Teachers. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday afternoon, 24 September 1973, at the Richardson-Nelson Funeral Home and burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Cedar Falls. The flag will be flown at half mast during the time of the service and the Campanile bells will be played in memory of Miss Anderson.

Mary Anderson, long-time member or the Laboratory School faculty, passed away in Santa Barbara, California, Thursday, September 20. Funeral services will be held today, Monday, September 24, 1973, here in Cedar Falls at the Nelson-Richardson funeral home at 2:30 p.m. Miss Anderson, sister of Lucille E. Anderson, was a member of the PLS Mathematics staff until she retired completely in 1958.
