Mary Oehler Mary Lea Oehler, 73, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, December 12, 2005, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo. She was born August 6, 1932, in Belle Plaine, daughter of William and Arlene Hunt Campbell. She married Vernon Oehler August 30, 1952, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Cedar Falls. He preceded her in death August 30, 1998. She was a graduate of Belle Plaine High School and was a secretary for twenty-eight years in the public safety department at the University of Northern Iowa, retiring in 1994. She volunteered her time at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home and made quilts for the many patients there. Survived by: three sons, Lonnie and Stephen, both of Cedar Falls, and David (Nancy) of Carlisle; three daughters, Peggy Fuller, Laurie Trager, and Connie Oehler, all of Cedar Falls; seven grandchildren, Shana (Scott) Mallinger, Travis Oehler, Lindsay Oehler, Tiana Oehler, Shelbi Oehler, Jordan Oehler, and Mikala Oehler, and a great-grandson, Tanner Mallinger. Preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, William and Robert Campbell; and two sisters, Nadine Lebeda and Phyllis Dircks.
Services: noon Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, where there will be a 4 p m. rosary and a 7 p.m vigil service, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.
