Marion Ralph Walker, 77, of 2821 Walnut Street, Cedar Falls, died at home Thursday, November 4, 1993, of natural causes. He was born January 13, 1916, in Cherokee, son of George W. and Anne Scherler Walker. He married Helen Mae Gerber on June 4, 1948, in Waterloo. Mr. Walker was employed for nineteen years with the Illinois Central Railroad as a pipefitter, then was a mechanical manager at University of Northern Iowa for twenty-four years, retiring in 1978. He was a veteran of World War II, serving from January 20, 1943, to December 8, 1945, in the U.S. Navy. Following his discharge, he was in the Naval Reserves for twenty-three years, serving as chief petty officer. He was a member of Black Hawk Masonic Lodge 65 in Cedar Falls, had life membership in the Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49, and was a member of Waterloo Veterans of Foreign Wars and El Kahir Temple. 

Survived by: his wife; two sons, James Reiser of Washburn and Richard Reiser of Gilbertville; two granddaughters, Kimberly Weber and Nicole Reiser, both of Gilbertville; and three brothers, Dennis of McGregor, George of Cedar Falls, and Norman of Waterloo. Preceded in death by: his parents; a sister, Georgianna Gronberg; two grandsons, Kevin Reiser and Tony Reiser; and a great-granddaughter, Ashley Jean Reiser. 

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo. Graveside military rites will be conduced by Cedar Falls AMVETS 49. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and an hour before services Saturday at the church. Masonic services will be conducted by Glenn Holmes at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
