Louise Muriel Gaynor Moe, 91, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, February 26, 2009, at Western Home Communities Martin Center. She was born March 29, 1917, in Chicago Heights, Illinois, daughter of William Owen and Emma Louise Schenk Gaynor. She married Karl H. Moe on November 25, 1947, in Waterloo. He died January 19, 1980. Mrs. Moe received her bachelor of science degree in business from the University of Minnesota and her master of science degree from New York University. She taught high school in Bemidji, Minnesota; Wausau, Wisconsin; Waterloo and Cedar Falls. She then joined the faculty of Iowa State Teachers College (UNI) and later Wartburg College for fourteen years, retiring in 1984.
Survived by: three sons, Karl "Skip" O. of Wichita Falls, Texas, Richard "Dick" M. (Glenna) of Kansas City, Missouri, and Thomas A. (Mary) of Dallas; and five grandchildren, Tabitha, Jessica, Bethany, Erik, and Heather. Preceded in death by: two brothers, Floyd and William Gaynor; and a sister, Valeria Gaynor.
Services: were 3 p.m. Saturday at Richardson Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery.
