Lois N. Pittman, 90, of the Western Home Communities Martin Center, died there Wednesday, September 5, 2007. She was born August 16, 1917, in Imogene, daughter of Robert H. and Cora M. Clites Smalley. On June 28, 1941, she married Russell Pittman in Rock Port, Missouri. He died November 1, 1943. She later married Fred Espinosa on May 31, 1958, in Cedar Falls, and they were later divorced. Mrs. Pittman graduated from Shenandoah High School, Shenandoah, in 1935. She was employed as a secretary at the University of Northern Iowa, retiring in 1982. She was past president of the Business and Professional Women and past member of the Cedar Falls Women's Club and Questers.
Survivors include: a daughter, Melinda S. (Larry) Larsen of DeSoto, Wisconsin; a son, Jeffrey R. (Sue) Espinosa of Urbandale; four grandchildren, Kris (T. J.) Slifka of Lime Springs, Eric (Angie) Larsen of Marion, Jessica Espinosa of Des Moines, and Taylor Espinosa of Urbandale; and seven great-grandchildren, Nicole, Brandon, Connor, Matthew, Hunter, Valerie, and Fisher. Preceded in death by: three sisters, Frieda Kendall, Florence Collins, and May Foley; and three brothers, Oscar Fay, William Merle, and Robert Wendall Smalley.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Richardson Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Monday at the church.
