Training School supervisor dies
Leona Sutherland, for the past six years first grade supervisor in the College Training School, was killed instantly in an automobile accident near Brocton, Illinois, May 31, 1932, when she lost control of her car on a loose gravel road and crashed against a culvert. She was returning to Cedar Falls from Lawrenceville to resume her teaching duties here this summer when the accident occurred. Bernice Bryan, third grade supervisor in the Training School, who was riding with Miss Sutherland, received a fractured jaw and was badly bruised as a result of the accident.
