John Henry Ehl, 83, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday; February 15, 2003, at Windsor Nursing and Rehab Center of congestive heart failure. He was born February 13, 1920, in Jackson County, near Andrew; son of Henry Peter and Anna Elizabeth Cornelius Ehl. He married Minnie E. Adams on February 25.1950, in Waterloo. She died January 2,1999. Mr. Ehl had farmed east of Waterloo, then near Nashua, and later was employed in Plant Services at the University of Northern Iowa, retiring in 1982. He had been active in both Hart-Parr Oliver Collector's Association and Cornbelt Oliver Collector's Association.
Survivors include: three daughters, Ruth (Clayton) Starkey and Sally Ehl, both of Kalamazoo, Michigan, and Suzanne (Marcus II) Sletten of Cedar Falls; three grandchildren, Marcus III, Kate, and Christina Sletten; and a sister, Louise (Lester) Dieckman of Bellevue. Preceded in death by: an infant brother, Albert; and an infant son, William.
Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Grace Brethren Church, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Richardson Funeral Home, with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Visitation also for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.
