Helen Ray Helen Ray, 98, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, January 20, 2007, at the Western Home Communities Martin Center. She was born January 24, 1908, in Milwaukee, daughter of Joseph and Christina Junek Hasik. She married Thomas A. Ray on October 22, 1929, in Cedar Rapids. He died December 2, 1963. Mrs. Ray had been supervisor of housekeeping for the University of Northern Iowa from 1964 until retiring in 1972.
Survivors include: two daughters, Marilyn Stewart of Denver, Colorado, and Corinne (Jeffrey) Dowd of Racine, Wisconsin; a son, Gerald (Shirley) of Mason City; seven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by: four sisters, Carrie Mather, Agnes Feiereisen, Sylvia Gandy, and Lorene Bahe.
Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Western Home Communities Chapel, Cedar Falls, with burial in Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Public visitation for an hour before services Wednesday at the chapel. Richardson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials: may be directed to Western Home Communities or Cedar Valley Hospice.
Helen enjoyed dancing and music. She was devoted to her family and was proud of her Czech heritage.
