Hari K. Shankar, 78, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, June 20, 2008, at Sartori Memorial Hospital of medical complications from surgery. Mr. Shankar joined the department of mathematics at Ohio University, Athens, Ohio, in 1963 as a professor. He retired as a professor emeritus after more than thirty years. He served as chairman of Human Rights Commission in Cedar Falls and Athens. He was a part-time, visiting professor at the University of Northern Iowa.
Survived by: his wife; his children; and eleven grandchildren. Services: there will be no services. Public visitation from 1 to 4 p.m. today at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, Waterloo.
