Grace Pruin, 103, of Dike, died Saturday, November 20, 2004, at Parkview Manor Nursing Home, Reinbeck, of natural causes. She was born March 9, 1901, near Stout, daughter of Albert W. and Aletta Theerman Bulthuis. On October 28, 1924, she married Pete Pruin. He died on October 21, 1950. Mrs. Pruin worked as a housekeeper at the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, for seventeen years, retiring in 1965.
Survivors include: two sons, Bert (Adele) of Holland and Harry of Dike; two daughters, Inez (Ed) McCarville of Dike and Mildred Goodell of Cedar Falls; seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lyda Belthuis of Cedar Falls. Preceded in death by: a brother, Ed Bulthuis; a sister, Gertie Bouck; and a son-in-law, Curtis Goodell.
Services: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery, both in Dike. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the church. Dike Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial fund: has been established.
