Laboratory Technician

Edwin P. Anderson, former laboratory mechanical technician in the Department of Biology, died Saturday, April 17, 1976, at 4:01 a.m. at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, of a coronary attack. Mr. Anderson joined the staff of the University July 1, 1968. He retired in January 1976. Although he was assigned to the Department of Biology, he also worked with other departments in the College of Natural Sciences. He was born June 18, 1905, in Arlington, South Dakota. He was married to Florence Berg, August 4, 1931, in Elgin, Iowa. They have lived in Waterloo forty-two years. He was a jeweler for thirty-five years. Survivors include his wife; a son, Fredrik of Dayton, Ohio, two brothers, Jerry of Titusville, Florida, and Arnold of Iowa Fails; and a sister, Mrs. Vivian Amundson of Radcliffe. Memorial Services were held Monday, April 19, 1976, at 11:00 a.m. at the Grace United Methodist Church of Waterloo. The flag was flown at half-mast during the time of the services. Interment was in the Elgin Cemetery of Elgin, Iowa. Friends may give memorials to Grace United Methodist Church or the Heart Fund.
