Dorothy Ann Kamper, 84, of Janesville, died Friday, January 26, 2007, at Bartels Lutheran Home, Waverly. She was born November 14, 1922, in Riceville, daughter of Harry and Kathryn Hogan Smith. On May 14, 1949, she married Marlin B. "Bernie" Kamper in St Joseph, Missouri. Mrs. Kamper graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1939. She was employed as a secretary at the American Martyrs Retreat House and then at the University of Northern Iowa in the Curriculum Lab, retiring in 1988. Survivors include: her husband; a daughter, Jaque (Kevin) Fowler of Millington, Tennessee; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Kathryn (Clarence) Betts of Rockford, Illinois, and Harriet Picht of Cedar Falls. Preceded in death by: a daughter, Rita McGourty; and two sisters, Marguerite DeHuff and Rita Perrin. Memorial services: 10:30 am. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Waverly, with visitation for an hour before. Richardson Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: may be directed to the Janesville First Responders.
