CEDAR FALLS - David A. Kohrs, 66, of Cedar Falls died Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. He was born February 22, 1950 in Decorah, Iowa, son of Silas and Marie (Schabe) Kohrs. He married Sharon (maiden name) on September 25, 1976 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Waterloo. He graduated from Waterloo East High School; worked at the Black Hawk Roller Drome and was employed as Facilities Coordinator at the University of Northern Iowa. Survived by: his wife of Cedar Falls; a brother, Wayne (Bernie) Kohrs of Waterloo; a sister, Carol (Dave) Dinger of Decorah; and extended family, Emily Bartekoske and her son, Braden, and Katie (Brian) Burkhardt and her children, Gavin and Madison. Preceded in death by: his parents and two brothers, Chuck and Randy Kohrs. Services: 11:00 a.m. Monday at St. John's American Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, with inurnment later in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls, and also for one hour prior to services Monday at the church. Memorials may be directed to the UNI Foundation or Cedar Bend Humane Society.
