July 16, 1957
To: Members of the Faculty
Miss Corley A. Conlon, Associate Professor of Art, Emeritus, passed away suddenly at her home at 1:15 o'clock this morning, July 16, 1957. We are, indeed, saddened by this information. Miss Conlon had earlier been hospitalized and has been convalescing at her home for the past few months. Miss Conlon came from Red Oak, Iowa, where she completed her early education. She received an Art Diploma from the Pratt Institute, New York City, in 1922, the B. A. degree from Iowa State Teachers College in 1930, and the M. A. degree in Fine Arts from Teachers College, Columbia University, in 1932. Prior to becoming a member of our staff in 1923, she had taught in the rural schools of Iowa and was at one time Art Supervisor in the Waterloo Public School system. Funeral services await arrangements by her sister and brother, who survive her. Dahl Funeral Home will be in charge of the service and final arrangements can, no doubt, be read in the local newspaper. The Campanile will be played the morning of the funeral service as an expression of our respect and admiration for Miss Conlon.
Sincerely yours, J. W. Maucker, President.
