Connie Loonan, 70, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at Windsor Nursing and Rehab Center in Cedar Falls of natural causes. She was born November 3, 1941, in Waterloo, daughter of Marvin and Thelma Axline Long. She married David Loonan August 20, 1966, in Waterloo. She graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1959. She was a custodian at UNI for thirty-six years, retiring in 2001, and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church Survived by: her husband; a sister, Barbara (Art) Weltzin of Waterloo; a brother-in-law, Gary (Gerri) Loonan of Huntley, Illinois; a nephew, Mike (Ann) Weltzin of Waterloo; three nieces, Linda Paster of Twin Lakes, Wisconsin, Cindy Davies of Aurora, Illinois, and Patti Loonan of Des Moines; three grand-nieces; two grand-nephews; and her dog, Red. Preceded in death by: her dog, Precious. Memorial services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Locke Funeral Home, with inurnment in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with a 4:30 p.m. Rosary. Memorials: may be directed to American Cancer Society or Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed traveling and being with her dogs. She loved to cook and bake.
