Clea Ellen Belz, 97, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, November 26, 1999, at the Cedar Falls Western Home Martin Center of natural causes. She was born July 29, 1902, in Kansas, the daughter of Jake and Kathrine Burns Scholl. She married Harvey Belz on February 10, 1921, in Cedar Falls. He died September 21, 1961. She and her husband farmed for forty years, and then she worked at the University of Northern Iowa Food Service for ten years until retiring in 1972. Survived by: two sons, Merle of Cedar Falls and Herbert of Slater; eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by: two brothers, Lloyd and Paul Scholl; two sisters, Mable Rippatti and Dorothy Nourse; and a great-granddaughter. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Western Home Chapel, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and for an hour before services at the chapel. Memorials: may be directed to the Western Home.
