Charlotte E. Hamm, 101, of Friendship Village, died there Thursday, January 26, 2006, of natural causes. She was born June 29, 1904, in Berlin, Germany, daughter of Paul and Ida Lehninger. She married Cecil Hamm on October 11, 1924, in Sterling, Colorado. He died in August 1978. Mrs. Hamm worked as a housekeeper at the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, before retiring. Survivors include: a son, LaVerne (Geraldine) of Lynnwood, Washington; a daughter, Dorothy (Marian) Briden of Waterloo; three sisters, Florence Gosse of Rudd, Wally Wolfe of Maynard, and Ruth Wagner of Strawberry Point; thirteen grandchildren and many great- and great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by: a son, Kenneth; a daughter, Helen Hannaman; a brother, Roy Lehninger; and a sister, Eunice Arp. There will be no services or visitation. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Garden View Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: may be directed to Friendship Village.
