Barbara Mary Poe, 52, of 1121 W. 16th Street, Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Minnesota, of a lengthy respiratory illness. She was born May 24, 1955, in Waverly, daughter of William and Mary Woodring. She married Allen Poe on January 6, 1979. She graduated from Plainfield High School in 1973 and from the University of Northern Iowa in 1977. Mrs. Poe retired from working as an academic advisor at the University of Northern Iowa in 1999. Survived by: her husband; a son, Anson, currently attending Coe College, Cedar Rapids; her mother, Mary Woodring of Plainfield; a sister, Andy (Billy) Williams of Panama City, Florida; three brothers, John (Mary) Woodring of Fredericksburg, Bob Woodring of Galesburg, Illinois, and Jim Woodring of Santa Rosa, California. Preceded in death by: her father. Memorial services: 2 p.m. June 1 at the Commons Lounge at UNI. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date. Memorials: may be directed to the family.
