Ann Mary Dunbar, 74, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, November 22, 2005, at Allen Hospital of cardiac arrest. She was born May 31, 1931, in Waterloo, daughter of Charles W. and Regis J. Casey Dunbar. She graduated from Cedar Falls High School, received her bachelor's degree from Clarke College in Dubuque, and her master's degree in education from the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls. She was an Associate Professor of Education at the University of Northern Iowa for thirty years, retiring in 1991. Ms. Dunbar was a member of Pi Lambda Theta, Legion of Mary, and Catholic Daughters of the Americas, trustee of Serra Club, lector and sacristan of Queen of Peace Parish, and Secretary of Queen of Peace Parish Council. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Elizabeth "Randy" Dunbar of Cedar Falls; three nephews, Patrick Dunbar, Michael (Carol) Dunbar of Cedar Falls and Timothy (Mary Boes) Dunbar of Iowa City, two nieces, Sarah (Sue Vargo) Dunbar of Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Bridget (John Stortz) Dunbar of Waterloo; eight grand-nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by: a brother, James Casey Dunbar. Services: 10 am. Monday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Waterloo, with burial in St. Patrick's addition of Greenwood Cemetery, Cedar Falls. Friends may call from 4 to 8 pm. Sunday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where there will be a 4 p m Legion of Mary rosary and a 7 pm. vigil. Visitation also for an hour before services Monday at the church. Memorials: may be directed to the church.
