Virginia Mae "Ginny" Lechelt, 86, of Park Rapids, Minnesota, formerly of Cedar Falls, died April 15, 2015, at the Diamond Willow Assisted Living, Park Rapids. She was born November 27, 1928, in South Bend, Indiana, daughter of Roland and Theodora Ziegler Kammeier. She married Merrill Gene Lechelt on April 3, 1947, in Britt; he died in 2007. Ginny graduated from high school in Britt, and earned degrees from the University of Northern Iowa and Hamilton Business College. She was employed as a personal secretary at the University of Northern Iowa Library. She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Park Rapids.
Survived by: a son, David (Helen); a daughter, Dianne (Dennis) Saak of Nevis, Minnesota; four grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by: her parents; a brother, Rollie Kammeier; and great-granddaughter. Services: 2 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Lutheran Church, Park Rapids, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in Bethel Lutheran Cemetery south of Dorset, Minnesota Cease Family Funeral Home, Park Rapids, is assisting with arrangements.
