Ruby L. Davis, 56, died of cancer at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo on Monday, October 31, 1988. Ruby began working at UNI in 1977 and was a custodian in Noehren Hall. She last worked in October 1987 and was placed on long term disability in January 1988. Visitation and funeral arrangements are pending. Ruby was born August 15, 1932, in Hughes, Arkansas, daughter of Cora and Will Lewis. She married McKinley Davis in Jonestown, Mississippi, in 1950. They were divorced in 1974.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Suggs and Tammie Wyley, of Waterloo; three sons, McKinley Davis II, Ray Davis, and Billie Davis, all of Denver, Colorado; three sisters, Velma Conner, Letha Crumble, and Pearle Lewis, all of Chicago, Illinois; a brother, Herman Lewis, of Detroit, Michigan; and eight grandchildren. A memorial has not yet been established.
