Robert Guy Whitlatch, 78, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at home of a heart attack. He was born May 9, 1923, in Iowa Falls, son of Dr. Guy and Dorothy Elliott Whitlatch. He married Blanche A. Hollenbeck on March 1, 1949, in Rochester, Minnesota. She died March 24, 1985. Mr. Whitlatch managed the A&P Grocery Store in downtown Cedar Falls, was a sales representative for A. B. Dick Company and for Al's Vacationland, and in 1985 retired from the University of Northern Iowa security department. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survived by: four sons, Barry and Charles, both of Cedar Falls, Robert of Marion and William of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin; a daughter, Bonnie Stark of Cedar Falls; seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild; his companion, Sandy Turner of Cedar Falls; a brother, Marvin Brown of San Diego; and two sisters, Thelma Vajada of Valparaiso Indiana, and Shirley Sherwood of Cedar Falls. Preceded in death by: a brother, Charles Brown; and two sisters, Patty Bass and Anna Mae Billings.
Memorial services: 10:30 AM Friday at First Christian Church, with inurnment in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens at a later date. Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM today at Richardson Funeral Home, temporarily located at 204 W. Seerley Boulevard. Memorial fund: has been established.
